Watching people change will never stop fascinating me. Even the superficiality of added tissue changes the demeanor and posture of the one who dared go beyond where he or she was comfortable. We are all bitching about feeling chubby lately, but everyone is also enjoying the gains, the added strength and resolve. You have to risk what you are in order to realize what you can become. And this is what stops most people. They are too enamored with their mediocrity that they can’t pursue new and better or different. I know I’ve fallen for the trap of “good enough” and it is a hell. These next few weeks will be an excellent time for me. It will start to reveal all the hard work that people in our space have invested.

I planned this session on Christmas day. It was supposed to just be a shakeout and it for sure shook some cobwebs off, but it was a bit much and affected the rest of the week. Beware but it felt good to move a little faster. The warm-up was extensive to working snatch weight because I haven’t for some time. The concept here is to lift at around 70% RM. But instead, make sure it is heavy and “snappy.” The zone 2 work between lifts is to condition you to heavy loads. The meat is our typical grinder, a nice ladder triplet that takes a while, plan for 30+ min
